Food Truck Management System

Overview

The client wanted this food truck system as a product to simplify operations and empower business owners, offering a seamless,
all-in-one solution tailored to their needs. They required an efficient digital ecosystem that would help manage the food truck activities while providing a better customer experience across different countries. We used Flutter, React, HTML, and CSS to develop and integrate the applications.

Project Scope:

Objective: Create a fully integrated digital system consisting of four interconnected applications to facilitate business management, customer relationship management, and operational efficiency.

1. BMS- Business Management System:

This system is designed for the use of food truck owners and clients to manage their operations most effectively.

• Dashboard: Observed daily and weekly activities.
• Business Details: Access and edit client information.
• Food Truck Information: Schedule administration including the time and location of the food truck.
• Menu Administration: Add and modify food items
• User Roles: Users can be assigned certain roles such as cook or admin.
• Reports: Detailed summaries of orders for the day and running totals for the week.

2. FOS (Food Ordering System):

A customer-facing mobile application for smooth ordering of food.

Major Features:

• Possible cooking time.
• Dine-in or take away.
• Choose to pay by cash or card.
• Status of the food preparation.
• Order customization is just like other leading platforms.

3. OMS (Order Management System):

A food truck admin system order to manage and monitor.

• Notifications: New orders received
• Tracking of the Order - From preparation to delivery
• Forwarding to the Kitchen for preparation

4. KDS (Kitchen Display System):

It is a portal for cooks to handle updates on their respective orders.

• Accepting the customer order
• Status Updates: Communicate with admins when an order is ready for pickup.

Difficulties and Solutions:

Seamless Connectivity Across Portals:

• Challenge: Seamless connectivity between the four applications.
• Solution: Leveraged the client-provided backend API. Ensure all data would be maintained with API integration and put updates in real time.

Extensive Customization of Food Orders

• Challenge: Extensive customization without burdening the user and at the same time, maintaining the complexity in the back-end logic.
• Solution: Developed an intuitive UI for customers to input their order preferences and then feed the inputs directly to the KDS for execution.

Technologies Used:

• Frontend: Flutter (for mobile), React (for web), HTML, CSS.

• Backend: Client provided a robust API for all interaction.

Outcome:

The solution transformed INTHUB's food truck operations, providing:

• A unified platform for business owners, users, and cooks.
• Enhanced customer convenience with a user-friendly mobile application.
• Efficient order tracking and preparation through OMS and KDS.
